Wild Season: Europa Glory While Avoiding Relegation Leaves Me as an Arsenal Fan Disappointed

Post Image

Look, as an Arsenal fan, it honestly makes me mad to see how crazy Spurs’ 2024/25 season turned out. They were flirting with relegation all season, just barely surviving in the league—yet somehow they go and win the Europa League, beating Man United 1–0 in Bilbao. Just like that, they end a 17-year trophy drought and secure Champions League football. It’s wild.

Meanwhile, we’ve gone five seasons without a trophy. Sure, we finished second in the league and made it to the Champions League semi-finals under Arteta—it definitely feels like progress. But still, seeing Spurs lift a European trophy we’ve never even won? That stings. Bad.

The Premier League this season was something else. Liverpool, under Arne Slot, took the title with 84 points. City weren’t their usual selves, and somehow Forest were pushing for a European spot. It was chaos.

Spurs were a proper mess—beating City 4–0 one week, then getting smashed 6–3 by Liverpool the next. Their season was all over the place. And here I am, caught between being proud of how far we’ve come under Arteta, and being low-key jealous of that cup sitting in Spurs’ cabinet.
