So, Donald Trump recently said, “Nobody has heard of Lesotho.” Ouch! As an African, that comment stings. It’s not just about Lesotho; it reflects how the world often overlooks our continent, despite its incredible wealth.
Let’s face it: Africa is rich in resources—gold, diamonds, oil—and yet we still depend on currencies from countries that aren’t even backed by gold. Why is that? We have the raw materials that fuel the global economy, but we’re still struggling to stand on our own two feet.
Imagine if we took control of our resources and created a currency backed by our wealth. We could change the game and stop letting others dictate our economic fate.
Lesotho may be small, but it’s part of a continent full of potential. Let’s start recognizing our strength and push for economic independence. What do you think? Should Africa start using its resources to back its own currencies? Let’s chat!
